Privacy policy
Short version: ThumbFetch has no accounts, no uploads and no database. The links you paste never leave your browser, and the images you download travel directly between YouTube's servers and your device.
What happens when you use the tool
- Parsing is local. Extracting the video ID from your link happens in JavaScript in your browser. This site's hosting receives only the page request itself — never the links you paste or the IDs they contain.
- Images load from YouTube. Thumbnail previews and downloads are fetched by your browser from
img.youtube.com(Google). That means Google's servers see a normal image request from your device, as they would for any embedded thumbnail on any website. Google's own privacy policy governs what Google does with its server logs. - Nothing is stored by us. ThumbFetch sets no cookies of its own, runs no account system, and keeps no record of videos fetched, images downloaded, or files saved.
- Downloads are direct. When you click Download, the file moves from YouTube's CDN to your device (in some browsers via a temporary in-memory copy in the tab). It never passes through or rests on a ThumbFetch server — there isn't one in the path.
Hosting and logs
The site itself is a static bundle served by our hosting provider (Cloudflare Pages). Like any web host, it processes standard request logs (IP address, user agent, page requested) to serve pages and prevent abuse. Those logs contain page URLs of this site only — the tool's inputs are never part of a URL here, because the tool works entirely client-side.
Third parties
Other than the hosting provider above and YouTube's image CDN (which you instruct your browser to contact by using the tool), using ThumbFetch contacts no third parties: no advertising networks, no analytics beacons, no social widgets, no external fonts or scripts.
Your responsibilities
Thumbnails are their creators' copyrighted work. This policy covers your data, not image rights — for those, see the creators page.
Changes
If the site ever adds a feature that changes any of the above (for example, an optional account for Pro), this page will be updated before that feature launches, and the "no storage" claims for the free tool will remain as stated.
